The unit of quadratics was full of concepts which were interesting to learn about. I enjoyed learning about the different types of factoring, but I had some troubke with graphing and word problems.

This is the quiz 3 of quadratics which I did not perform the best in. I had some trouble with the word problems, and graphing which led to this mark. Even though I did not earn the mark I wanted, I learned from my mistakes and practiced the concepts I learned in class to a greater extent. I had some trouble in finding the x-intercepts from a standard quadrtatic equation. I also had a hard time in finding the maximum height in motion word problems. I believe I had a hard time doing this because sometimes it is diificult to rearrange formulas, and I get confused about which form I should use to find the x-intercepts. Other than that, I understand how to use the quadratic formula and when to use it. I also know the points of a parbola, and I am confident about the method of completing the square.

This is the thinking task we had for factoring. I learned my mistakes and built on them from the previous assesment, and ended up getting a better mark. Even though this is a good mark, I would like to get better and polish my quadratics analyzing skills. I feel more confident about factoring, and I feel like I understand the different types better. In this unit, I found factoring to be alot easier than graphing since I like to work more with numbers and variables rather than with graphs. Understanding factoring also helped me achieve success in various word problems. Economic, or motion problems include rearranging formulas and using factoring to solve. Overall, I am pleased about my imoprovement throughout the unit and I hope too continue improving throughout the course.
